Honda Activa e and QC1 Electric Scooters Launched in India
In a significant move towards sustainable mobility, Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India has unveiled two electric scooters at the 2025 Auto Expo in Delhi NCR: the premium Activa e and the budget-friendly QC1.
Honda Activa e: Premium Electric Mobility
Priced at an introductory ₹1.17 lakh (ex-showroom), the Activa e enters a competitive market alongside models like TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Ola S1, Hero Vida, and Ather Rizta. A higher-spec variant, the Activa e RoadSync Duo, is also available at ₹1.52 lakh (ex-showroom).
Key features of the Activa e include:
- TFT Instrument Cluster: Supports Bluetooth connectivity, offering turn-by-turn navigation and notification alerts.
- LED Lighting: Equipped with LED headlights, DRLs, and tail lights for enhanced visibility.
- Removable Battery Packs: Two 1.5 kWh batteries provide a combined range of 102 km. The battery-swapping system adds convenience for users.
- Performance: A swingarm-mounted electric motor delivers 6 kW (8 bhp) of peak power, achieving a top speed of 80 km/h. Riders can choose from three modes: Eco, Standard, and Sport.
Honda QC1: Affordable Electric Option
For those seeking a cost-effective alternative, the QC1 is priced starting at ₹90,000 (ex-showroom). This model offers:
- Simplified Instrument Cluster: Focuses on essential information with a minimalist design.
- Ample Storage: Provides a 26-liter boot space for practical utility.
- Fixed Battery: A 1.5 kWh battery offers an 80 km range on a single charge.
- Performance: Features a hub-mounted electric motor with 1.8 kW (2.4 bhp) peak power, a top speed of 50 km/h, and two riding modes: Eco and Standard.
Phased Rollout and Availability
Honda plans a phased rollout of these electric scooters, initially targeting metro cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. This strategy aims to manage demand effectively and ensure a smooth introduction to the market.
