HYUNDAI CRETA ELECTRIC | YES YOU HEARD IT RIGHT | HERE IS WHAT TO KNOW

Hyundai has introduced its much-anticipated Hyundai Creta Electric SUV, setting the stage for a significant leap in the electric vehicle (EV) segment. This new addition combines the brand's reputation for quality and innovation with the growing demand for environmentally friendly mobility solutions. Here's a closer look at what this exciting new SUV has to offer.

The design of the Creta Electric strikes a balance between familiarity and modernity. While it retains much of the aesthetic appeal of its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterparts, subtle yet significant modifications set it apart as an electric vehicle. The front grille, for instance, is closed off, featuring a pixelated pattern that emphasizes its futuristic character. The charging port is seamlessly integrated into the grille, ensuring convenience without compromising the vehicle's sleek design. Additionally, new aerodynamic alloy wheels and pixel-inspired bumpers further highlight its distinct identity.

Under the surface, the Creta Electric is powered by cutting-edge battery technology that delivers an impressive range. Hyundai Creta offers two battery options: a 42 kWh pack with a certified range of 390 kilometers and a larger 51.4 kWh battery capable of delivering up to 473 kilometers on a single charge. Charging is equally efficient, with fast-charging technology enabling the battery to go from 10% to 80% in under an hour. For home charging setups, an 11 kW AC charger fully charges the battery in approximately four hours, making the vehicle highly practical for daily use.

Performance enthusiasts will be pleased with the Creta Electric’s capabilities. The SUV is engineered to provide a dynamic driving experience, with the Long Range variant accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.9 seconds. Multiple drive modes, including Eco, Normal, and Sport, cater to a range of driving preferences, while Hyundai’s i-Pedal technology simplifies driving by allowing single-pedal operation for acceleration and braking.

Inside, the Creta Electric offers a well-appointed and tech-forward cabin. Dual 10.25-inch displays function as the instrument cluster and infotainment system, providing seamless access to key vehicle information. The three-spoke steering wheel, adopted from the Kona EV, adds to the premium feel of the interior. Comfort features such as ventilated seats, dual-zone climate control, and a panoramic sunroof make every journey enjoyable. On the safety front, the SUV is equipped with six airbags, ABS with EBD, parking sensors, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), ensuring a secure driving experience.

Hyundai has scheduled the official launch of the Creta Electric for January 17, 2025, during the Bharat Mobility Show in New Delhi. While the company has not disclosed the pricing details yet, it is expected to start at approximately ₹20 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it as a competitive choice in the electric SUV market.
